Wedding of Paula & David
Hotel Mercure Santo Domingo
Paula and David were the first couple of 2016, a year we’re now heading into the home stretch of over the coming weeks. They called me at the end of the previous summer; they had been guests at a wedding we decorated in Granada in 2013 and, having become parents a few months earlier, needed help with the planning of their wedding.
The connection was great from the very first moment, and shortly after our first meeting I was already scouting venues for their wedding. They wanted an urban wedding, with a garden or terrace, and after considering several spaces in central Madrid they ended up choosing the Hotel Mercure Santo Domingo.
The ceremony was held on the hotel’s terrace, with a string duo playing in the background. The day was a bit cloudy but held up long enough for the “I do”. Many months before the big day, the bride told me she wanted the table numbers to be held by wine corks tied with yellow and white ribbon; so, starting from there, we designed a seating plan in which the corks and flowers in white and yellow tones took centre stage.
And without further ado, here are the photos of this lovely wedding with which we kicked off the 2016 wedding season. Ruth Roldán Photography was the studio in charge of covering this wedding, and through their lens you’ll be able to see how the couple experienced this lovely day.
